Using Spices 4 Africa Curry Pack

A rich, slow-cooked lamb curry packed with authentic flavour. The Spices 4 Africa Curry Pack makes preparing this traditional dish simple while delivering a deep, aromatic curry every time.


What You’ll Need

Main Ingredients

• 1 kg Lamb pieces
• 1 Onion (finely chopped)
• 2 Tomatoes (or 1 can Tomato & Onion Mix)
• 2 tsp Garlic & Ginger paste
• 1 Spices 4 Africa Curry Pack (Mild, Medium or Hot)

• 1 Can Coconut Milk (for a creamier curry) or 1-2 cups water
• Fresh coriander for garnish
• Salt to taste

Optional

If you prefer sweeter curry add 2 tablespoons of apricot jam


How to Cook

1. Fry the onion
Heat oil in a pot and fry the chopped onion until golden brown.

2. Add the whole spices
Add the whole spices from the curry pack and cook briefly until fragrant.

3. Add the powdered spices
Add the powdered spices together with the garlic & ginger paste.

4. Add the tomatoes
Add the tomatoes and cook until softened. Season with salt to taste.

5. Add the lamb
Add lamb pieces and mix well so the meat is coated in the spices.

6. Add water or Coconut Milk
Add 1–2 cups of water or Coconut milk for more creamy taste and allow the curry to simmer slowly.

7. Cook until tender
Allow the lamb to cook until tender and the sauce thickens.

8. Garnish and serve
Garnish with fresh chopped coriander and serve hot.

Preparation: 10 minutes

Cooking:
Pressure Cooker – ±90 minutes
Stove / Fire – Cook until the lamb is tender


Serve With

• Steamed rice
• Roti or naan bread
• Fresh salad or pickles
